Rebuild your eyebrows to achieve #browgoals.Posted on April 13, 2017

If you thought hair on your head was a pain to tame, you probably got a rude awakening the first time you tried to tame your eyebrows. Here's how to fix the most common problems. On average, just one of those little face caterpillars is made up of about 250 hairs, and each hair plays a very specific role in the shape and overall look of your eyebrows--so if just one is out of place, you or your brow-obsessed buds will notice.
Whether you have bushy, uneven, pencil thin or sparse eyebrows, it definitely requires strategy for grooming them on a daily basis. And since those lines on our faces are pivotal to basic human communication-- not to mention our confidence when someone is staring at us a bit too closely-- most of us make it a point to ensure they’re looking fabulous at all times.
Allow me to introduce our shining eyebrow superstars, for your using pleasure:

If your brows are: bushy, dense, unruly
If you were blessed with thick brows, you know that using the wrong brow product will make you feel like Bert from Sesame Street when you look in the mirror. You know that a brow building product might not be the best option, unless you’re going for an extra dense, impactful brow. Thicker eyebrows benefit from a good taming and shaping by a spoolie brush (Cruelty Free Dual Ended Eyebrow Brush), with help from a good eyebrow gel applied using a Cruelty Free Angled Brush to hold them in place. To clean up any errant hairs that just won’t fall in line, use sharp, precision tweezers.
To refine the shape of your eyebrows, use our Long Last Brow gel to fortify edges or fill any uneven areas. Going back in with your angled brush, dab bristles into the gel and line the edges of your brow. If you have medium to dark hair, you can even use our Creamy Long Last Liner: Dark Cacao to softly shape the edges and tail of each brow. Gently comb with the spoolie end of your brush to evenly distribute color for a more natural finish.
“First I outline underneath and above with Long Last Brows, using the angled brush. Then I fill a bit as I go. To finish, I use the spoolie end of my brush to disperse pigment and tame the hairs.”
If your eyebrows are: asymmetrical, uneven

Let’s face it-- some of us (aka me) were born with eyebrows that are more like sisters than twins. Or perhaps the variation was caused by human error; we may have shaved the tail off one in a hurry (me again), or plucked the other to death. Whether one brow is less arched, shorter or more bushy than its counterpart, you can use a few strategies to help correct the differences between your two fuzzy friends.
First, dab a tiny amount of product onto your brush and use the angled point to lightly mark where each brow should begin and end. The inner end of your brow should start just above the inner corner of each eye. Hold the handle of your brush and make a straight line from the outside of your nostril to the outer corner of your eye: that’s where the tail of your brow should end. Within these marks, you will later fill with a powder or gel with short, quick strokes-- after you’ve tended to your arches, of course! Try our Fruit Pigmented Eye Brow Powder Gel: Brunette or our Long Last Brows: Soft Brown.
Now, bring in the tweezers to get those arches matched up. This step can be tricky, since most people think to start plucking away at the larger of the two eyebrows. With this method, you can quickly end up with pencil thin eyebrows (which we’ll tackle later)! Instead, the goal is to find which brow has the higher arch, and match to that: this will be your ‘reference’ brow. Pluck only one hair at a time, from below the brow instead of above. Once the lower arch has gotten closer to the curve of the high arch in your reference brow, you can begin to fill.
Using the angled brush tip, apply light, natural brushstrokes of Long Last Brow gel or Powder Gel to the top of the brow that has the lower arch, matching the angle of your reference brow. Finish by filling the rest of your brow within the marks you placed. Last, supplement a refining outline to the top edge from the inner corner of the brow, and carefully down the thin edge of the tail. Gently brush hairs up, then down towards tail to make direction of strands uniform.
“My eyebrows are naturally wonky; one has a higher arch than the other, and it doesn’t help that I’ve accidentally shaved off part of one before! All I need is our refining Long Last Brow gel and angled brush to get them looking more balanced.”
If your eyebrows are: sparse or thinning
If the hairs of your brow grow in patches, far apart or not much at all, you’re an ideal candidate for brow building products. Our new Green Tea Fiber Brow Builder is formulated with Pro Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E to strengthen hair, and uses fibers of pulverised green tea leaves to mimic real hair growth, resulting in enhanced texture and density for your eyebrows.
Start by choosing the shade that would best suit your eyebrows: Green Tea Fiber Brow Builder: Soft Brown or Green Tea Fiber Brow Builder: Medium Brown. Because these are considered tints rather than high pigment color, the two shades have been formulated to be universal for light or dark natural hair colors. Pull out spoolie then tilt horizontally to brush hairs of brow upwards. Follow by brushing the same hairs down towards tail of eyebrow; this will layer and evenly disperse the fibers, while molding the hairs to stay in place.
“I like to fill in the patchy parts of my brows with the Fiber Brow, then refine and shape with the Long Last Brow. Then I go in with our Long Last Concealer to clean up the edges.”
If your brows are: pencil thin or over-plucked
Green Tea Fiber Eye Brow Builder in Soft Brown
Oh, the perils of magnified mirrors! Obsessive or overzealous tweezing can leave eyebrows thin and barely visible, which for some may be a chosen style throwback to the Edith Piaf starlets of yesteryear. But if you’re looking to bolster your barely-there eyebrows back to their former glory, read on to learn how.
Using the same measuring method we used in the previous section, mark the desired parameters for your ideal eyebrows. Using a powder or gel, fill in the brow with short, quick strokes of the angled brush to mimic natural hair growth. Brush your spoolie up and then down towards the tail of the brow, to evenly distribute pigment.
After filling the desired shape, it’s time to beef up your eyebrows with the all-new Green Tea Fiber Brow Builder for the impression of denser hair growth. Brush the built-in Fiber Brow spoolie through the hairs of your natural brow: first up and then down towards the tail. The fibers of green tea leaves add texture, while the tinted gel and powder provide depth of color, giving the impression of a full, more natural brow. Finish by refining the edges and tail of each brow with the angled brush.
“With the right products, I can just spend an extra three minutes to get that noticeably fuller, more natural brow that I’m looking for.”
Sure, brows aren’t everything-- but why not utilize them to their fullest potential? They’re a bonus, built-in facial accessory capable of elevating any day off, night out, or professional look. We’ve got a varied brow arsenal that’s safe, effectively pigmented and totally pure-- so grab it all and get your brow on!
