100% PURE + Club Monaco at New York Fashion Week 2017

Have you been buzzing off all the eye-catching collections pouring in from New York Fashion Week shows (and not to mention all that Vogue street style)? We couldn’t wait to hop on a plane from our headquarters in San Jose, California straight to the bustling city that never sleeps; New York City to join in on New York Fashion Week 2017. Whether you are one of the lucky few, who gets to sit runway side to view the latest fashion collections IRL, or just a fashion junkie who’s constantly refreshing their favorite fashion blogs to get the most up-to-date deets on the season’s hits and misses, 100% PURE has got you covered on the Club Monaco show at NYFW 2017.

Last Friday, we rode the elevator up to fashion heaven, to get the first look at Club Monaco’s Fall 2017 Collection exhibition held at the open workspace on the 71st floor at 4 World Trade Center. This breathtaking 360 degree view of New York City was the perfect backdrop to showcase the sure to be closet must-haves. A pastel-hued bursting skyline summarized the event; soft and dreamy but taking care of business. 100% PURE partnered with Club Monaco to bring natural makeup into the spotlight. We’re putting healthy makeup center stage this fashion week with fruit pigmented® looks, where the inspiration behind the looks are glowing, winter-flushed skin. The classic rosy cheeks give the models a healthy hint of dew-kissed radiance without any toxins or synthetic dyes.

We tapped Lead Makeup Artist Colleen Runne to expertly showcase our natural makeup looks for Club Monaco’s Fall 2017 fashion exhibition. Colleen’s career as a makeup artist initially started as a fine arts major, which makes absolute sense while we watched her apply 100% PURE’s natural makeup with a painter’s sensibility backstage. Studying under top lead makeup artists combined with her art school background, Colleen has risen to the top and is constantly sought out for her artistic flair as well as her ability to create flawless looking skin.

Fruit Pigmented Pretty Naked Palette and Plantioxidants

Runne’s creative direction for makeup highlighted fresh, winter chilled skin with flushed cheeks and healthy radiance. She prepped models’ skin with Plantioxidants organic skin care (another company we love!) to enhance suppleness and glow, offering the ideal canvas for freshly flushed fruit dyed makeup looks. Planning to get this makeup look at home? Use an antioxidant packed Plantioxidants Power Seed Menagerie Cream as a skin-nourishing base.

Cheeks were prepped with the Plantioxidants Power Seed Menagerie Oil (which the models and artists raved about), as it helped give high points of the cheekbones a healthy glow. Runne achieved naturally flushed cheeks and pout with our Cranberry Lip & Cheek Tint,, with light luminosity on cheekbones and cupid’s bow using our Pretty Naked II Palette’s Illumé luminizer. Full brows are filled and refined using Green Tea Fiber Brow Builder. Models radiated smooth, flawless skin thanks to Luminous Primer, ultra lightweight 2nd Skin Foundation + 2nd Skin Concealer, and pore-diffusing Bamboo Blur Powder.

Club Monaco’s collection was a celebration of the ever-evolving notion of the modern woman, shifting perspectives and shaping a new conversation around the classic fall wardrobe. Did you see all those little splashes of leopard print? We instantly had flashing images in our head of Courtney Love and Drew Barrymore in their iconic leopard peacoats, leaving a late-night Hollywood party. Who can resist (and not love) this throwback to the ‘90s iconic pattern with a chic edge mixed in to bring it up to 2017 standards?

Faux fur always because animals are friends, not fashion. If you’re looking to create a softer look for the office, Club Monaco expertly paired their jungle cat inspired pieces with feminine, rose gold pairings. Tame your inner big cat by opting for an accordion pleat skirt (another updated classic) made to move while you dash around from meeting-to-meeting. CEO Francis Pierrel considers this collection to be “the start of a new moment.” Each piece was thoughtfully designed to flatter every silhouette and every skin tone. The takeaway? Club Monaco’s new collection is made up of pieces to carry you throughout the day as a buildable wardrobe, not to mention throughout the season.

Club Monaco Cafe

In between all the celebrity spotting (yes, that was Maggie Gyllenhaal and Kate Mara) and ogling the new looks, we hopped over to the Club Cafe for a little pick-me-up refreshments and delights courtesy of Matchabar and Sqirl. Phew! It’s hard work but someone has to do it (and we’re so lucky that it’s us)!
